There has always been a trade off between price & speed for the small business owner. To get anything at a reasonable price, your websites had to be hosted on overseas servers, typically in the United States.
Australian data space & bandwidth by contrast are more expensive but:-
are a lot faster at loading pages and active content
maintenance outages are normally scheduled outside business hours
significantly faster at downloading email attachments
no overseas data connector issues
Overseas data space & bandwidth are very cheap, but the trade off has been:-
significantly slower page loading times (due to high latency / ping rates)
inconvenient outages for maintenance, which occur after hours for them, but during working hours for us
slower download times for email attachments
and being susceptible to any problems which may occur with the main data connector pipes between Australia and the USA.
